Other elements of this culture include woven patterns referred to as knots, some of which were believed to carry runic qualities.
I selected the Celtic Shield Knot, which was largely used to symbolise protection. Its compact design hints at an unbreakable barrier, with a single interwoven thread suggesting endless protection.
The endlessness of the design also symbolised rebirth and eternity, hinting at the never-ending cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth. Celts hung symbols such as these in their homes as a form of protection against bad luck and evil.
